A CAF (Chhattisgarh Armed Force) constable has been arrested in Korba after a tragic incident where he fatally shot his uncle-in-law and sister-in-law. The incident occurred at the in-laws’ residence in Umedi Bhantha, Hardi Bazaar area. The constable, who was on duty guarding the Bango Dam, arrived at the house and opened fire with his service rifle. Both the uncle-in-law and his daughter died at the scene. The incident caused a commotion, with neighbors and other family members fleeing in fear. The accused attempted to escape but was apprehended by the police. Preliminary reports indicate that the accused had divorced his wife some years prior, leading to ongoing disputes between the two families. The stress related to the divorce is believed to be a contributing factor in the shooting. Police were immediately notified and responded to the scene, arresting the constable.
