An IED explosion in the Bijapur district, a stronghold of Naxal activity in Chhattisgarh, resulted in the serious injury of a female Maoist. The blast occurred in the Bandepara forest, under the jurisdiction of the Madmed police station. Following the explosion, the woman’s comrades, instead of providing assistance, fled the scene, seizing her weapon and leaving her wounded in the forest. Local villagers alerted the police to the incident.
