Following the special intensive revision (SIR) of voter lists in Bihar, the Election Commission of India (ECI) is set to roll out the initiative nationwide. The commission has issued directives to all states, setting the stage for the revision to begin in August. State Chief Election Officers have been alerted to prepare for this extensive voter list review. Bihar is preparing for elections this year, while Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal are gearing up for their 2026 assembly elections.
