A former Sarpanch has been killed by Naxals in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. The victim was identified as Vijay Jawwa, and the incident occurred in Chhinakodepal village, which falls under the Modakpal police station jurisdiction. Following the murder, the area is experiencing a climate of fear and unrest. According to reports, the Naxals arrived at the former Sarpanch’s residence, attacked him with sharp weapons, and left his body on a road in the village. The increased violence comes as security forces have intensified operations against the Naxals in Bijapur. This has led to accusations and retaliatory killings by the Naxals, who accuse villagers of providing information to the authorities.
