Arun Sao, the Deputy Chief Minister, oversaw the ongoing construction of the new Chhattisgarh Assembly building in Nava Raipur, focusing on the interior and furniture aspects. During his inspection, Sao emphasized the importance of adhering to the set deadlines for the project. The civil work has been completed and now the focus is on the interior and furniture fit-out. The inspection included observing the seating arrangements for the MLAs in the Assembly. Sao highlighted that the new building will showcase the culture and craftsmanship of Chhattisgarh, making it a landmark structure for the state and the nation. The new assembly building is being constructed across 52 acres, designed to accommodate 200 members in the House. It will house the Assembly Secretariat, the Assembly House, a Central Hall, and offices for the Speaker, Chief Minister, and ministers. The complex will also include a 500-seat auditorium and parking for 700 cars, along with two lakes spread over 1.5 acres each.
