A fatal accident on the national highway in Rajnandgaon claimed the lives of nine cattle when an unknown truck collided with them. The incident occurred late at night near the Indamara crossing. The animals, including cows and calves, were sitting on the side of the road when the truck, reportedly speeding and attempting to overtake another vehicle, hit them. The impact was severe, resulting in the immediate death of the animals. The accident happened around 2:30 AM, and the dead animals were discovered by the public in the morning, prompting them to alert the police. The high speed of the truck is evident from the fact that the cattle were dragged some distance after the collision. CSP Pushpendra Nayak and a team from the city council arrived at the scene to manage the situation. The deceased animals were buried with proper respect. Police are currently examining CCTV footage to find the truck and its driver.
