The monsoon session of the assembly was marked by disruptions on its third day. The Leader of the Opposition, Dr. Charan Das Mahant, brought up the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PM Awas Yojana) during the proceedings. The Congress MLAs reacted strongly to Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma’s answers regarding Dr. Mahant’s questions. Dr. Charan Das Mahant inquired about the status of progress under the PM Awas Yojana (Rural), specifically whether a house is deemed complete upon payment, or if the absence of a toilet still leads to the house being considered complete. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma clarified that the third installment is disbursed after reaching the lintel level, with payment following within 90 days, and the work is deemed finished at the final stage. He also mentioned that the current government, led by Vishnu Deo Sai, has already disbursed all dues.
