Angnesh Minj, the head teacher of Jamjunnani Primary School, was defrauded online. The woman transferred ₹2.65 lakh to a specified account over a period of two days, succumbing to the scammers’ tactics. Details reveal that the head teacher received a call from an unidentified number. The caller asked if she used PhonePe; upon her confirmation, they asked for her account balance. She informed them she had around ₹3 lakh. The scammer tempted her with the promise of ₹3.18 lakh in return for sending ₹3 lakh. The principal, caught in the trap, proceeded to transfer a total of ₹2.65 lakh from her and her PhonePe accounts to the provided account. When the promised money failed to materialize, she understood she had been scammed and filed a complaint at the Pathalgaon police station. The police have started an investigation based on the complaint.
