Angnesh Minj, the headmistress of Jamjunnawani Primary School, was swindled out of ₹2.65 lakhs through an online scam. The deception unfolded over two days as she transferred the funds. The incident began with a call from an unidentified number. The caller probed if she used PhonePe, then inquired about her account balance. Upon learning she had about ₹3 lakhs, the fraudster offered a deal: send ₹3 lakhs and receive ₹3.18 lakhs in return. Persuaded by this, she transferred ₹2.65 lakhs from her own and PhonePe accounts. The realization of the fraud came when the promised return payment failed to materialize. A complaint has been lodged at the Pathalgaon police station, and the police have begun their investigation.
