A total of 41509 metric tons of fertilizers available in the district, 34 percent more compared to last year. 6036 quintals of seeds available in the district. Continuous action is being taken to prevent black marketing, hoarding and irregularities of fertilizers. Raipur, May 29, 2026. On the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, under the guidance of Collector Rajnandgaon Shri Jitendra Yadav, fertilizers and seeds are being distributed to farmers on time keeping in mind the farming in the Kharif season. The collector has told the agriculture officers that farmers should not face any kind of difficulty in getting fertilizers and seeds. It is noteworthy that this year in Kharif, a target of 68690 metric tons has been set for the year in preparation for the pre-Kharif season in societies and private sectors to promote the use of alternative fertilizers along with traditional fertilizers, nano urea and DAP in paddy as well as pulses-oilseeds crops. A total of 41509 metric tons of fertilizer is available in the district, combining cooperative and private sectors. This includes 17153 metric tons of urea, 4088 metric tons of DAP, 10129 metric tons of NPK, 3382 metric tons of MOP, and 6757 metric tons of Single Super Phosphate fertilizer, which is 34 percent more than the same period last year. Deputy Director Agriculture Shri Tikam Singh Thakur informed that fertilizers are being continuously distributed to farmers through service cooperative societies. Fertilizers have been supplied to 14972 farmers in the district. This includes 7193 metric tons of urea, 1807 metric tons of DAP, 4669 metric tons of NPK, 1322 metric tons of MOP, and 2214 metric tons of Single Super Phosphate fertilizers that have been distributed to farmers for the upcoming Kharif crops, and societies have 4568 metric tons of urea, 1032 metric tons of DAP, 3082 metric tons of NPK, 1364 metric tons of MOP, and 1350 metric tons of Single Super Phosphate fertilizers available. A target of 13980 quintals has been set to ensure timely availability of quality seeds to farmers. Against the target, 6036 quintals of seeds are available in the district with the Seed Corporation. Out of this, 3201 quintals have been stored in societies and 1085 quintals of seeds have been distributed to farmers. Storage is being done in coordination with the District Marketing Officer and District Cooperative Central Bank Limited as per the continuous demand of the societies. Additionally, distribution to farmers is being done through societies based on 80 percent urea and 60 percent DAP as per the government’s guidelines. District and block-level flying squad teams have been formed to prevent irregularities such as black marketing, smuggling, diversion, and hoarding of fertilizers. The teams are continuously inspecting fertilizer sales centers. During the inspection, upon finding irregularities, notices have been issued to 28 sales centers, and action has been taken to seize and seal the stock of fertilizers in 7 sales centers. Furthermore, the licenses of 5 private sales centers have been suspended. The Agriculture Department is continuously inspecting sales centers in the district and strict action will be taken against centers found violating rules in the future.
