During the ongoing verification of ration cards in Raigarh, substantial irregularities have been discovered. Around 79,000 beneficiaries in the district are registered on ration cards but lack Aadhaar seeding. These individuals have been receiving their monthly ration allotments for an extended period.
In Raigarh district, 310,000 ration cardholders are entitled to monthly rations, benefitting 1,057,540 individuals. Following a state government mandate to verify the ration cards, approximately 79,247 beneficiaries were found without linked Aadhaar cards. Their ration has been issued monthly in the name of the head of the family despite the absence of thumbprint or iris verification. The Aadhaar seeding initiative has been underway for the last 18 months, yet these integrations have not occurred, sparking concerns regarding the legitimacy of these beneficiaries.
