The rice festival initiated by the state government aims to distribute rice for June, July, and August simultaneously, starting June 1st. The new system requires an OTP sent to the beneficiary’s mobile phone for ration distribution, replacing the thumb impression method. This change is causing difficulties. Beneficiaries must provide the OTP received on their mobile to receive their ration. Those without a mobile linked to their Aadhaar are facing inconvenience, as they need to call home for the OTP. This is leading to delays and long queues at public service centers where people are trying to link their mobile numbers with their Aadhaar cards.
