Happiness has returned to the families affected by Naxal violence and surrendered Naxals in Bastar. Their approved permanent homes under the special project are quickly taking shape. Despite the remote and challenging geographical conditions, their aspirations are taking form with the support of the administration. This special project is a significant step toward rehabilitating families affected by Naxalism in Chhattisgarh, and a milestone in the rehabilitation of the affected families. Dashri Bai Nuruti’s husband, Doge Nuruti, who lived in Ulia Gram Panchayat in the Kanker district, died in a Maoist incident during the assembly elections. Her PM Awas was approved under the special project for Naxal-affected families in March. Construction began in May and was completed in just three months. Dashri Bai highlights that despite the practical difficulties, the home was completed quickly due to the support of the district administration and the PM Awas Yojana officials.
