A devastating fire claimed the life of a 70-year-old man in his Tatibandh residence on Saturday morning. The fire, believed to have originated from a faulty room heater, broke out while the man was home alone. His son had secured the house by locking the main gate before heading to his factory. Neighbors alerted by the smoke were tragically unable to reach the victim because the house was locked. The delay in the arrival of the fire brigade meant that any possibility of a timely rescue was lost. Police are investigating the incident and the community is mourning the loss of a neighbor in such a preventable manner.
