Ravi Sahu, Narayanpur. A dispute broke out between a 9th class student and a 12th class student on Saturday evening over a trivial matter in Chheribeda Eklavya Residential School. The matter escalated so much that the senior student beat the junior student badly with sticks. At the time of the incident, all those responsible were missing from the hostel. The family members of the victim student have lodged a police report about the incident. According to the information, after getting injured, the victim student Vishal Potai informed his father Baijnath Potai by asking for someone else's phone. But the family members initially ignored it considering it to be a minor dispute, after which the student took a photo of his swollen face and the injuries on his hands and legs and sent it to the family members. Seeing the condition of the child, the family members hurriedly left for Chheribeda hostel.

The family alleges that the incident took place at 6.30 in the evening, and even after reaching the hostel at 9.30 in the night, no one responsible was present there. Nor was the child given first aid. Father Vishal Potai told that I took my son from the hostel and applied to lodge a primary report at Benur police station, after which at 11.20 pm the police took him to the district hospital for treatment. When Assistant Commissioner Badrish Sukhdev, posted in Tribal Development Branch, who is responsible for the entire matter, was contacted for information, no response was received from him.
