Mohla-Manpur. Mohla-Manpur police has arrested 5 Naxal associates while exposing the money trail of levy collection by Naxalites. Evidence has been found that the arrested accused collected levy of more than one crore rupees and sent it to the Naxalites. Along with collecting levy, the accused also used to supply goods to the Naxalites. IG Deepak Jha presented the arrested accused in front of the media in a press conference and also exposed their activities. Apart from Vivek Singh, resident of Manpur, the arrested accused include four other Naxal associates from Bijapur district, namely Sona Ram Farsa, son of late Pandu Ram Farsa (28 years), Vijay Jurri, son of late Santu Ram Jurri (32 years), Ram Lal Karma, son of Tuparam Karma (35 years) and Rajendra Kadti, son of late Bugur Kadti (30 years).
Flight ticket strings linked to levy
During the investigation of the case of Naxal associate Surju Ram Tekam, arrested under Madanwada police station, it was found that Surju Ram Tekam was constantly touring urban areas to propagate the ideology of the Maoist organization and to advance the urban network. There was a program on 23 March 2024 in protest against Operation Kagar, corporatization, militarization, sponsored behind the scenes by the Communist Party of India (Maoist), to participate in which Surju Ram Tekam went from Raipur to Delhi by flight on 22 March. Flight tickets to Delhi were booked for Surju Ram Tekam and Sauna Ram Farsa from the money obtained from the levy of Naxalites.
Sona Ram Farsa was contacted by Surju Ram Tekam and asked to send some money from the levy of Naxalites for flight ticket and travel expenses to Delhi and asked to accompany him. Sona Ram Farsa then sent money from the levy money of Naxalites received from the contractor to the account mentioned by Surju Ram Tekam through his account. Then Surju Ram Tekam sent money to Vivek Singh from that account to book flight ticket. Vivek Singh was continuously supporting the urban network of Naxalites through different means on the instructions of Surju Ram Tekam and they were in touch with each other.
How was levy collected
Naxalites were collecting levy through Sona Ram Farsa, Vijay Juri, Ramlal Karbha and Rajendra Kadti by threatening to harm the life and property of tendu leaf contractors in Bhairamgarh area. These four were given the target of collecting levy of one crore rupees in the year 2022. For which, in lieu of working in the forest area from the tendu leaf contractor in Bhairamgarh area, the Naxalites collected levy of crores of rupees by threatening to harm the life and property of the contractor with the help of Sona Ram Farsa, Vijay Juri, Ramlal Karma and Rajendra Kadti.
Sonaram Farsa, Vijay Jurri, Ramlal Karma, Rajendra Kadti received approximately 60 lakh rupees of levy through their bank accounts and later used to withdraw cash from the bank and give it to the Naxalites. Rajendra Kadti’s elder brother Mohan Kadti is a notorious Naxalite commander from Bhairamgarh area. All of them were collecting levy from contractors and supplying ration, medicine and other essential materials to the Naxalites for many years in connivance with the Naxalites.
In the above case, Sona Ram Farsa, Vijay Juri, Ramlal Karma and Rajendra Kadti, residents of Bhairamgarh area, collected levy for the Naxalites from the contractor through online bank account and withdrew cash from the bank and gave it to the Naxalites. On the orders of the Maoists, the said associates used to transfer money online for the travel and other expenses of the urban members of the Naxal organization to support the urban network, under which levy money was given for the travel of Surju Ram Tekam.

Under the anti-Naxal operation, under the direction of Inspector General of Police Rajnandgaon Deepak Jha (IPS) and under the guidance of District Mohla-Manpur-Ambagadh Outpost Superintendent of Police YP Singh (IPS) and under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Mayank Gurjar (IPS), Additional Superintendent of Police Pitambar Patel, Additional Superintendent of Police (Ops) DC Patel, SDOP Mayank Tiwari took major action against the Maoists.
