Laxmikant Bansod, Balod. On the theme “Breaths are getting short, let’s plant trees”, Bhoj Sahu, an environment lover of the district, has taken a unique initiative. On the occasion of Rakshabandhan, where sisters tie rakhi on their brothers’ wrists, Bhoj Sahu has prepared a huge rakhi by making use of junk to give the message of environmental protection. By writing slogans for planting trees on this rakhi, tying rakhi to trees, he is giving the message of environmental protection.

The unbreakable bond of love between brother and sister, on Rakshabandhan sisters are tying rakhi on brother’s wrist. On the other hand, environment lover Bhoj Sahu, resident of Deori (D) of Balod district, has prepared a 5 feet long and wide rakhi from the ring spoke of bicycle and old clothes by making use of junk, which is made on the theme of tricolor colors. Rakhi has a message of environmental protection written on it and is tied to the trees on the roadside, which is attracting the attention of passersby and inspiring them to protect the environment.

Regarding this way of tying rakhi, Bhoj Sahu, an environment lover, says that just like sisters tie rakhi on their brother’s hand, brothers are always ready to protect their sisters, similarly we need to protect our trees by tying rakhi on them. Today, the increasing population and decreasing forests are becoming a big problem. Wild animals are in trouble due to deforestation. In such a situation, there is a need to be determined to protect trees by planting them. While giving this message, they are giving the message of environmental protection by tying a big rakhi on the neem tree on the roadside.
