The Rajgad area of Ramban in Jammu and Kashmir is reeling from the impact of a severe cloudburst, which has claimed the lives of three people and left five missing. The District Administration is actively involved in rescue efforts. The persistent heavy rainfall in Ramban has caused extensive damage, including the closure of the vital Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44). The Deputy Commissioner mentioned the significant damage caused by the rain, and the expectation that the highway may reopen by the evening or the following morning. The IMD forecasts further heavy rainfall in the region through early September. The Indian Air Force has been actively involved in relief operations, rescuing stranded civilians and delivering essential supplies in areas affected by flooding.
