Gurugram experienced severe traffic congestion on Monday due to heavy rainfall, with a 7-kilometer-long traffic jam reported across the city. The downpour resulted in significant waterlogging, disrupting traffic flow and causing major delays for those commuting. This added to existing difficulties, including delays on the Metro due to technical issues. Social media users shared their experiences, posting videos of the gridlock and expressing their frustration. The Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram issued a warning, noting that the city received over 100 mm of rain between 3 PM and 7 PM. The IMD has issued an Orange Alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall on September 2, 2025, prompting advisories for work-from-home arrangements for corporate offices and online classes for schools.
