In an affidavit filed with the Delhi High Court, Yasin Malik, the incarcerated leader of the JKLF, has made serious allegations. He claims that his meeting with Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind behind the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, in Pakistan in 2006, was orchestrated by Indian intelligence officials. Malik, who is presently serving a life sentence for terror-related funding, stated that Manmohan Singh, then Prime Minister, acknowledged and thanked him personally following the meeting. The affidavit indicates that the meeting was part of a clandestine peace initiative with Pakistan.
