A government school teacher in Vikarabad, Telangana, has faced suspension and a police case after bringing an animal brain to school for an anatomy lesson on June 24. While some students indicated the teacher suggested it was a crow’s brain, the specific animal is still under police investigation. The teacher is being investigated under the Cow Slaughter Act. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organized protests, claiming the action hurt religious feelings. Education officials responded by suspending the teacher. Separately, a building collapse in Thrissur, Kerala, resulted in the deaths of three migrant workers from West Bengal. The Kerala Labour Commissioner has been directed to investigate the incident.
