The Rouse Avenue court in Delhi has concluded its hearing and reserved its order concerning the charges in the Land for Jobs scam case. The case implicates Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, Tejashwi Yadav, and others. The CBI has charged these individuals with allegedly awarding jobs in the Railways in return for land. The final verdict is expected on October 13. Legal representatives for Lalu Yadav have contested the CBI’s FIR, arguing it was initiated without proper authorization. They contend the case is politically motivated and lacks concrete evidence connecting job appointments to land transfers. The defense presented sale deeds to prove land was acquired through financial transactions. The arguments for Rabri Devi concluded earlier, with the defense emphasizing that land purchases for monetary value do not constitute a crime and that no preferential treatment was given. The Delhi High Court had previously denied a request from the RJD Chief to halt the trial, which revolves around allegations of Yadav exchanging railway jobs for land during his time in office from 2004 to 2009.
