Shahdara’s Anti-Narcotics Task Force delivered a body blow to Delhi’s underground drug market by nabbing 19-year-old Rupa in a Safeda Jhuggi shanty. Acting on credible intel, the Wednesday operation yielded 55.52 grams of heroin, packed tightly and stashed in her attire, falling under NDPS intermediate quantity provisions.
Inspector Vinod Kumar’s team, monitored by ACP Ram Shankar Gotewal and DCP Shahdara, included veterans like ASI Shokinder, HC Pankaj, and Constable Arjun. They pounced on Rupa’s dwelling, seizing the evidence on the spot and filing FIR 80/26 at Geeta Colony PS under Section 21.
Rupa, a laborer by day, admitted to procuring and selling smack for profit, influenced by a supplier. Her criminal past features two cases, painting a picture of recidivism. Police are intensifying searches for her accomplices to sever the supply line at its roots.
This victory aligns with Delhi Police’s aggressive anti-drug strategy, targeting hotspots like urban slums. With the probe expanding, a larger syndicate may soon face justice, offering hope for drug-free communities.
