Chief Minister Rekha Gupta spearheaded a dual launch in Delhi today: six cutting-edge CAAQMS stations and the ‘Vayu Rakshak’ EV fleet, arming the capital with unprecedented air pollution surveillance. Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa spotlighted the fleet’s 35 vehicles and 100 personnel as pollutionbusters on wheels.
These monitors zero in on PM2.5 and PM10, providing unerring data streams. The fleet roams freely, capturing live air snapshots and triggering on-spot remedies, from fines to shutdowns.
Elevating the count to 46 stations, the network blankets diverse locales for holistic tracking. Administrators can now dissect pollution patterns, honing responses like source apportionment studies.
Deployed at JNU, IGNOU, NSUT West Campus, CWG Akshardham, CWG Delhi Cantt, and Talkatora Garden, the stations target high-exposure zones. Sirsa slammed past governments for rhetoric over results, positioning this as proof of action-oriented governance.
Vayu Rakshak’s mobility transforms passive monitoring into active warfare against smog. As Delhi eyes AQI improvements, this fleet promises accountability at street level.
Community leaders and health experts endorse the strategy, advocating public dashboards for transparency. This launch reinforces Delhi’s anti-pollution arsenal, paving the way for healthier tomorrows through vigilant oversight.
