A notable shift has occurred on Delhi’s metro map, with three stations undergoing name revisions. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta revealed the new designations on November 16th, emphasizing the goal of providing local identity and improving passenger navigation. The station formerly known as Pitampura Metro Station is now Madhuban Chowk Metro Station, a change designed to resonate more closely with the locality. Passengers will also find a new station near VIPS College now named Haiderpur Metro Station, directly addressing community sentiment. Residents of Haiderpur had expressed a desire for the station to reflect its village heritage, a request that has now been officially recognized. A third station, formerly the northern Pitampura station in Q-Block, will be designated Uttari Pitampura-Prashant Vihar Metro Station. The announcement took place in Haiderpur village, a location also celebrated for hosting the sacred Rezang La Shaheed Raj Kalash Yatra. The Chief Minister welcomed the procession, honoring the fallen heroes of the Rezang La conflict. Discussions also touched upon ongoing infrastructure improvements, such as the expansion of Max Hospital Road and a new underpass, signaling a dedication to the area’s comprehensive development and connectivity.
