The Supreme Court has modified its stance on the handling of stray dogs in Delhi-NCR following a review of petitions challenging the earlier guidelines. The court has decided to suspend the order from August 11, which had called for the relocation of stray dogs. The new ruling permits the capture of stray dogs, but with the stipulation that they be released following sterilization. A key element of the revised ruling is that this release is only applicable to dogs that are confirmed to be free of rabies and do not display aggressive tendencies. The original directive had generated significant opposition.
