The investigation into the Pahalgam terror attack has revealed that Sajjad Gul, the founder of The Resistance Front (TRF), played a central role in the planning and execution of the assault. The attack, which claimed the lives of 25 tourists and a local ponywala in Pahalgam, has been attributed to TRF, an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Toiba, founded by Gul. On April 22, the group, acting on Gul’s orders, targeted tourists after determining their religion. The ISI, Pakistan’s intelligence agency, utilized Sheikh as a local Kashmiri figurehead for the primarily Punjabi Lashkar-e-Taiba. Sheikh, who had an educational background in Srinagar, Bangalore, and Kerala, later established a diagnostic lab, facilitating logistical support for the terror group. J&K police have seized assets belonging to his father, reflecting the ongoing efforts to dismantle his network and bring him to justice.
