The Uttarakhand government, led by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, has focused on job creation, particularly for young people, over the past four years. A total of 25,000 youth have been recruited into government positions. Recently, 15 assistant teachers were given appointment letters for the Government Ashram Method Schools under the Tribal Welfare Department. The Dhami administration, which began on July 4, 2021, has emphasized providing employment opportunities and skill development. Permanent jobs have been secured for over 25,000 individuals through various commissions, including the Public Service Commission and the Subordinate Services Selection Commission. Additional recruitment drives are underway, promising more job placements. The government initiated the Chief Minister Skill Development and Global Employment Scheme on November 9, 2022. This scheme provides training in hospitality, nursing, and automobile fields, aiming to facilitate employment in Germany and Japan. As part of the scheme, 154 youths have been trained, with 37 already employed in Japan. The government also introduced a robust anti-cheating law in 2024, preventing exam paper leaks and leading to the incarceration of over 100 individuals involved in fraudulent activities.
