Marking a decade since its launch on July 1, 2015, the Digital India initiative has transformed the nation. The initiative’s aim was to reduce the digital divide by improving internet connectivity, digitizing government services, and equipping citizens with technology. The program has expanded rapidly, with initiatives like BharatNet bringing broadband internet to rural areas. Services such as Aadhaar, DigiLocker, UMANG, and CoWIN have streamlined public service delivery, while UPI has revolutionized digital payments. PM Modi noted that Digital India has created opportunities for entrepreneurship, digital jobs, and innovation, leading to increased financial inclusion and transparency. The focus is now on AI, cybersecurity, and 5G to further bring technology to the masses.
