The case surrounding the death of 28-year-old Nikki Bhati, who reportedly succumbed to injuries inflicted by her in-laws, is evolving. Nikki’s reported statement to doctors, describing her injuries as resulting from a cooking-related incident, has become a central point of the investigation. Authorities believe she might have been trying to protect a family member. The post-mortem, initially resisted by Nikki’s family, was eventually performed following police counseling. According to hospital records, Nikki’s ‘dying declaration’ attributed the burns to a cooking cylinder blast. Nikki was admitted to the hospital at 6 pm by a relative of her husband, Vipin Bhati, in critical condition.
