In a significant development concerning the Punjab byelection scheduled for November 11, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has suspended Tarn Taran Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr. Ravjot Kaur Grewal. Officials announced the suspension on Saturday, citing interference in the electoral process as the primary reason. Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar has been assigned the additional charge of Tarn Taran SSP to ensure continuity. The ECI’s statement highlighted the SSP’s alleged involvement in actions deemed to be compromising the integrity of the byelection. This disciplinary action reflects the ECI’s mandate to uphold fairness and transparency in all electoral activities across the nation.
