The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested KC Veerendra, the Karnataka MLA from the Chitradurga constituency, in Gangtok on Saturday. The arrest stems from an investigation into illegal online and offline betting operations. Authorities recovered a substantial sum of approximately Rs 12 crore in cash, including about one crore in foreign currency. Moreover, gold jewelry worth Rs 6 crore, silver articles weighing around 10 kilograms, and four vehicles were also seized by the ED. The actions were taken under the framework of the PMLA, 2002.
