The Election Commission is preparing to implement a nationwide Systematic Electoral Roll Revision (SIR) and will hold a key meeting on Wednesday, September 10th, to finalize the plans. The meeting will involve Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) from all states and union territories. Discussions will center on critical aspects of upcoming assembly elections in different states. The aim of the meeting is to facilitate smooth and credible elections, with a focus on voter list revision, code of conduct enforcement, technological advancements, and transparency. The Election Commission had already directed CEOs in June to prepare the groundwork for the SIR, following its implementation in Bihar.
