Following a Supreme Court directive, the Election Commission has published the names of 6.5 million voters who were removed from the electoral rolls in Bihar. Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar, announced on Sunday that the names have been uploaded to the websites of the respective District Magistrates. The Election Commission had been ordered to make the list public to enhance transparency. The order came after the Supreme Court heard petitions related to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list in Bihar. The Election Commission was given 56 hours to upload the names, and has complied by making the information available on district websites.
