The Amarnath Yatra is set to begin next week, with IGP Kashmir Zone VK Birdi confirming finalized security measures to ensure a safe pilgrimage. Addressing reporters at the Nunwan base camp in Pahalgam, IGP Birdi stressed the importance of local residents in the success of the Yatra. A comprehensive, multi-layered security plan has been devised by the Jammu and Kashmir Police in collaboration with other security forces. This plan includes detailed security arrangements across the Yatra route and in all sectors. SOP drills are being conducted throughout the areas involved, and IGP Birdi acknowledged the indispensable support from the local population, who are eager to assist devotees.
