To enhance transportation infrastructure in the Delhi-NCR area, the central government has greenlit a 30-kilometer expressway. This expressway is designed to facilitate connections between Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and the upcoming Jewar International Airport. The expressway will run adjacent to the existing Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and will connect Pashta Road to both the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and the Yamuna Expressway. The initiative was initially proposed by Gautam Buddha Nagar MP Dr. Mahesh Sharma. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has backed the project, stating the necessity of a direct and effective road link for Jewar Airport’s optimal functionality. Gadkari’s statement was made at a tree plantation at the Jewar Airport. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will handle the project’s implementation, with funding already secured. This project is a component of the government’s ongoing infrastructure endeavors in the Delhi-NCR region. Gadkari also mentioned numerous other infrastructure projects worth ₹1.2 lakh crore currently underway, with a significant portion already completed. An additional ₹40,000-50,000 crore is slated for further infrastructure investments.
