Significant improvements in regional connectivity are on the horizon with the construction of the Agra-Aligarh Expressway. The 65-kilometer project, costing Rs 1536.9 crore, will significantly reduce travel time between the two cities. The expressway is designed as a Greenfield project under the Bharat Mala initiative. The first phase of the project will span 28 km, connecting National Highway 509 in Aligarh to Asroi village near Hathras. It will also connect to key highways like the Bareilly-Mathura Highway and Agra-Noida Yamuna Expressway. This route will also act as an alternative route for the people of Aligarh and Hathras.
