Police in Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka, have arrested two individuals from Telangana who are alleged to have orchestrated a large-scale fraud. The suspects are accused of creating bogus websites impersonating well-known temples such as Sringeri and Annapoorneshwari, thereby defrauding devotees of crores of rupees. The fraudulent activities focused on special pujas and offerings, with the criminals exploiting the religious sentiments of the devotees. The Chikkamagaluru police, acting on numerous complaints, apprehended Sudeep and Anil Kumar from Telangana. The fraudulent operation involved the website www.Devaseva.com. Authorities are currently interrogating the arrested individuals to uncover the details of their operation, including the identification of other participants and the tracing of the illicit funds. Additionally, the police have advised devotees to be cautious and verify information from official sources before making online donations or payments for religious services.
