In a heartbreaking incident in Beed, Maharashtra, farmer Suresh Jadhav ended his life by hanging himself in front of a cooperative society. Jadhav’s desperate act followed the society’s refusal to return his fixed deposit. He had deposited Rs 11.5 lakh in 2020 and had been pleading for the funds for two years to support his children’s education. His wife stated that he had previously threatened to commit suicide. Despite promises from the former chairman, the money was not returned. The police are currently investigating the matter and have filed a case against the former president of the cooperative society for abetment.
