Tragedy struck the BITS Pilani campus in Goa on Thursday when a 20-year-old student was found dead in his hostel room. The student, identified as Rishi Nair, was discovered motionless. This unfortunate event is the fifth of its kind since December 2024. Previous incidents involved students Om Priyan Singh, Krishna Kasera, Kushagra Jain, and Atharv Desai. The exact cause of Nair’s death is still being determined. The university management has not yet commented on the situation, but the Chief Minister of Goa, Pramod Sawant, has ordered the collector to form a committee to investigate the series of deaths. The academic community is reeling from the shock of the latest incident.
