Newly uncovered WhatsApp chats reveal that Dr. Adeel Ahmed Rather, a central figure in the recent Delhi Red Fort area bombing, was desperately seeking an advance on his salary just weeks before the incident. The conversations, retrieved by authorities after his November 6th arrest, indicate a significant financial need, raising suspicions that these funds could have funded the terror plot. Dr. Adeel had joined a hospital in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, in March 2025, after previously working at the Government Medical College in Anantnag. Despite his professional standing, the messages from early September 2025 show him persistently asking for his salary ahead of schedule. He expressed his urgent requirement for money multiple times to an unspecified senior, likely associated with Al Falah University. The exchanges highlight his increasing anxiety over his financial situation. Law enforcement agencies are now investigating whether the money Adeel was so keen to obtain was indeed used in the conspiracy. Evidence suggests a large sum was involved in the blast, and Adeel is believed to have been a significant financial contributor and potentially the designated treasurer within the group.
