The Indian Army’s Fire and Fury Corps added a significant achievement to its mountaineering history by successfully summiting Mount Kang Yatse in Ladakh. The expedition, flagged off on June 25th, was a tribute to the Kargil War heroes, coinciding with the 26th Kargil Vijay Diwas. The team’s ascent of both Mount Kang Yatse I (6400 m) and Mount Kang Yatse II (6245 m) demonstrated remarkable skill and endurance. Mount Kang Yatse I presented significant challenges due to its technical demands and adverse weather conditions. This successful climb underscores the Indian Army’s dedication to operational excellence and high-altitude preparedness, which is crucial for maintaining a strategic advantage in the critical Eastern Ladakh region.
