A former employee of a Noida-based company has been taken into custody for involvement in a Rs 1.8 crore Goods and Services Tax (GST) fraud. The individual, identified as Abhinav Tyagi, is believed to have created bogus invoices valued at roughly Rs 10 crore in an attempt to illicitly obtain a GST credit. The suspect, a resident of Bisrakh, Greater Noida, and native of Moradabad, reportedly capitalized on his role in the company’s accounts department to manipulate tax records. Police investigations are ongoing, with authorities currently seeking an accomplice. Evidence seized during the arrest included mobile phones, SIM cards, a laptop, a vehicle, GST-related documentation, and a rental agreement. Tyagi has been remanded to judicial custody, while the search for his associate continues.
