An encounter between security forces and Maoists in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, on July 26, 2025, led to the killing of four Maoists. The clash occurred in a forest in the southwestern region of the district. Security forces, acting on information about Maoist presence, initiated an anti-Maoist operation, which then escalated into a gun battle. The aftermath revealed the bodies of four Maoists and a large collection of weapons, including INSAS and SLR rifles. Separately, an earlier operation in Bokaro district, Jharkhand, on July 16, 2025, targeted a group of CPI Maoists. This operation, involving a joint team, resulted in an exchange of fire, the recovery of two bodies, and the death of a soldier from the 209 Battalion.
