Rahul Gandhi, during a press conference, voiced his concerns about the BJP’s ability to seemingly bypass the anti-incumbency factor, which typically affects all parties in a democracy. He employed the hashtag #VoteChori to underscore the issues associated with the SIR policy. Gandhi pointed out that the BJP appears to be the only party that does not suffer from anti-incumbency. He referenced instances such as the Haryana and Madhya Pradesh elections, where results deviated significantly from pre-election polls. Gandhi’s analysis extended to internal polling data, revealing a consistent pattern of unexpected election outcomes. He focused on irregularities in the Maharashtra elections, specifically the addition of more voters in a short period compared to previous years and a significant increase in voter turnout after 5 PM. He claimed one crore new voters came into play. He also stated that the Election Commission refused access to voter lists, and they decided to destroy CCTV footage, fueling his doubts.
