An explosion involving a box of fireworks marred the festivities, leading to the death of a 15-year-old boy, Tanush Rao, and injuries to six others, including a police constable. The explosion happened on Friday, August 29th, between 5:45 PM and 6:00 PM, during the immersion of the Ganesh idol. The Friends Yuva Group was conducting the procession.
