On July 4, 2025, Gandhinagar’s Mahatma Mandir will host a state-level ceremony. The event will honor 4,876 newly elected Sarpanchs and 600 members from Mahila Samaras Gram Panchayats. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will remotely distribute grants exceeding ₹35 crore to 761 Samaras Gram Panchayats. The ceremony will also feature the distribution of certificates to Gram Panchayats that have topped the Panchayat Advancement Index across nine different themes. Over ₹1,236 crore has been allocated for various grant schemes. Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil will also be present to deliver a motivational speech. Villages from across Gujarat have been recognized for exemplary performance in areas such as poverty alleviation, healthcare, child welfare, water management, environmental sustainability, infrastructure development, social security, governance, and women’s empowerment. Bhavnagar district leads in the number of Samaras Gram Panchayats, and Mehsana tops in Women’s Samaras Gram Panchayats.
