In light of the ongoing monsoon season and widespread flooding in North India, Haryana’s Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has issued specific instructions to enhance flood preparedness. The focus is on ensuring efficient water drainage throughout the state, with particular attention to high-risk areas. Officials have been directed to gather information on available pump sets and ensure the meticulous cleaning of drains. The Chief Minister’s review included a meeting with Deputy Commissioners, underscoring the urgency of the situation. This proactive stance is critical, given recent instances of waterlogging in Ambala and Charkhi Dadri, coupled with the extensive damage caused by heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh and elsewhere. The state government aims to proactively address water drainage issues and respond swiftly to any complaints, in anticipation of continued heavy rainfall predicted by the Indian Meteorological Department.
