A devastating accident in Mosale Hosahalli village, Hassan district, cast a shadow over the final day of Chaturthi celebrations. A tanker lorry plowed into a Ganesh immersion procession, resulting in the deaths of at least nine individuals and injuries to many others. The incident took place on Friday night. The driver of the vehicle was also injured in the crash. The deceased include six villagers and three engineering students. The Chief Minister Siddaramiah expressed his sadness over the incident, as did former CM HD Kumaraswamy. The state government has declared a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for each of the families who lost a loved one in this horrific incident. Prayers and condolences have been extended to the families of the victims, along with wishes for the speedy recovery of those injured.
