In Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, a KFC outlet faced closure on Friday after Hindu Raksha Dal activists protested the sale of meat during the Sawan period. Raising slogans and seeking a ban on non-vegetarian food during the Kanwar Yatra, the activists’ actions were captured in a viral video showing KFC staff. The incident has led to the imposition of Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code (BNSS) in the district, and an FIR has been filed against unnamed individuals under Section 223 of the Indian Penal Code (BNS). Authorities are currently investigating the matter. The Kanwar Yatra, which starts in June, is a major pilgrimage.
